BY Plus: Great Jobs and Great People
Earn while you learn for doing on-site paid work experience throughout training.
BY Plus is an eight-week training program that provides students with the skills needed to be prepared and confident for a career in construction. The program utilizes NCCER Core Curriculum and OSHA-10 certification to provide 80 hours of coursework that blends classroom learning and hands-on performance verifications.
In addition to classroom instruction, participants will have the opportunity to engage in paid, hands-on work experience at worksites managed by Neighborlink Indy. ICRF staff and local community centers work with students for other services they need in order to be successful throughout the program, including childcare, basic skills training, financial coaching, transportation assistance, and legal counseling provided by Indianapolis Legal Aid.
Students participating in BY Plus will receive a stipend for completing on-site work experience each Friday throughout classes.
Like the traditional BY program, BY Plus will conclude with job placement assistance and a hiring fair for participants with ICRF employment partners throughout Central Indiana.
The BY Plus training and wrap-around services are free for students and open to Marion County residents age 18 or older.
