BY Construction Training Hiring Fair

Hiring Fairs are held towards the end of the training programs. The students will have successfully completed all required training and will be ready to present their resume to you and interview, in the hopes of continuing the application process and being employed by your company. This opportunity allows students to have 1 -on 1 time with you to interview, ask questions, and determine eligibility.

Description

  • Hiring Fairs typically last two (2) hours. 

  • When talking with students, they will be interested in hearing about your company, type of work you do, your story, and career opportunities. 

  • The students tend to be very engaged. There will likely be lots of questions.  

  

The BY Construction Training Program provides students interested in the construction industry with basic skills and certifications. Over the course of 3-10 weeks, students earn their OSHA 10 certification and complete NCCER Core Curriculum. Class topics include safety, introduction to hand and power tools, construction math, basic communications and blueprint reading which will prepare them for entry level construction jobs. Also, job readiness skills are promoted as each student signs an accountability pledge which reinforces responsible behaviors.
