BY Boot Camp - Mattison Summer 2023

Employer presentations are a hallmark of the BY Construction Training course. During these presentations, employers share about their journey in the construction industry and answer question from the students about working in construction.

Description

  • Employers typically present for about 30 minutes. 
  • When talking with students, they will be interested in hearing about your company, type of work you do, your story, and career opportunities.  You will also be able to share a presentation, if you have any slides or photos that you would like to use. 
  • The students tend to be very engaged. There will likely belots of questions, and the presentation is likely to be fairly conversational. 

 

The BY Construction Training Program provides students with interest in the construction industry with basic skills and certifications. Over the course of 6-8 weeks, students earn their OSHA 10 certification and complete NCCER Core Curriculum. Class topics include safety, introduction to hand and power tools, construction math, basic communications and blueprint reading which will prepare them for entry level construction jobs. Also, job readiness skills are promoted as each student signs an accountability pledge which reinforces responsible behaviors.
